DIPNET CHARTERS

ON THE KASILOF RIVER

On The Salmon Tales Too

Seasonally June 15- July 10

Come join us for a unique fishing adventure on the Kasilof River.

The Kasilof fishery starts a little earlier than the Kenai. This allows for Alaska Residents that are busy in July to fish in June.

Fishing from a boat is much better that fishing from shore as your with the people you want to be with, no arm-to-arm combat fishing and you have a reserved seat.

Netting on the Kasilof River provides an efficient method for harvesting salmon while maintaining sustainability and regulatory compliance. This makes dip netting one of the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible personal use fishing methods in Cook Inlet.

Reds begin moving into the Kasilof in early June, however the dip netting season does not open until mid-June. The red run remains fishable through the end of the dip netting season in early August.

No advanced fishing skills needed. You’re essentially intercepting fish moving upstream. Good for beginners and families.

Fish runs are well tracked, so effort is focused during peak times instead of guessing where fish are.

When fish are running strong, dip netting can produce large volumes in a short time. On rivers like the Kasilof, families can harvest their entire annual salmon supply in a single tide.

Dip Netting from a boat is allowed during the same open season and times as dip netting from shore. The same permit, harvest limits, and marking requirements apply. The open area is the same as that of the shore dip netting area.
